Art-ifact
This year marks a significant milestone as we approach the 10th anniversary of Vestige. A decade of designing, creating, and growing as a small business has been both rewarding and reflective.
While slow fashion remains at the heart of what I do and love, I find myself grappling with a question that has lingered over the years: Is there more I can do to contribute meaningfully to this industry?
As someone who champions mindful consumption, I often reflect on the role of creating. In a world already brimming with material goods, is adding new clothing season after season truly aligned with my values? How do I continue to design thoughtfully without contributing to unnecessary excess?
Project Artifacts was born from these reflections. It’s more than an art series; it’s a celebration of the things we already cherish. Each piece is a custom digital painting that reimagines everyday objects, magnifying their presence and honouring the stories, memories, and connections they hold.
By preserving the essence of what we own, Project Artifacts aims to inspire deeper appreciation for the material goods we’ve brought into our lives—and encourage a shift toward more intentional consumption.
As I share this series, I invite you to join me in exploring these questions and celebrating the beauty of what we already have. Could this philosophy of honouring what we own transform not just our wardrobes, but how we interact with the world around us?
Stay tuned for more on Project Artifacts—a project where art, stories, and slow living converge.
